Project Spank Status Update
September 7, 2008 Posted by
Good news is that support for Pligg style sites is now in, the general layout is done, and I have all I need to get PHPDugg sites coded in. I will be working on getting that part done ASAP. The plan is to support multiple usernames per site so if you have more than 1 username per site you can use each one or random ones to vote on random users, you can set which users you want to vote for per site, and there MIGHT be proxy support if I can get it coded in. Yes, I know proxy support will be a big deal which is why I plan on getting it put in but I might release a copy for general use pre-proxy support so that users can get the feel for the program and will have a working copy at least. More to come as this week progresses on ![]()
Status update on version 3.0
April 7, 2008 Posted by
I am still hard at work slaving over the hot code of version 3.0 of the program, so do not think I have abandoned it. I have been listening to what you are wanting to see in the program and aside from some very stubborn pieces of code which I am currently working on getting to act right by offering it anything it wants, everything is going smoothly. There is going to be several big “roll outs” of things around version 3.0 so not only am I working on the program, I am also working on getting other things ready which is why it seems to be taking longer than normal.
So hang tight people, it is in the works and I am working hard on getting it out to you ASAP!
Version 3 is in the works
March 17, 2008 Posted by
Yes, version 3 of the program is in the works. That means no more new features will be added to the current version, only major bug fixes will be done. New features will be saved for the major release of version 3. I can’t tell you what is coming in version 3 just yet, but I will say this: It’s going to be big and you are going to love it.
Looking into adding reading RSS feeds
March 10, 2008 Posted by
I’m currently looking into adding the option for users to add their sites RSS feeds into the program. This will allow you the user to be able to select posts right from your RSS feed for quicker posting without having to copy/paste from your sites. It is currently in a working state but I am still messing around with the idea a bit. If I do decide to add this into the program, look for it to be added soon.
New trial feature released, big updates coming soon
February 29, 2008 Posted by
Now I know I’ve promised some updates for a long time now, but that’s the problem with running a business yourself is sometimes you get so busy you don’t have time to update code and add new features. Well the good news is that I’ve released the new trial feature and have gotten rid of the old version 1.0 program as the demo. So now you can enjoy the full version of the program free for 2 days. Why did I do this? Well I’d rather have someone be able to take the product for a real test drive before deciding if it is right for them.
As for the updates that are coming out, I can’t say specifics right now as well there is a lot I am going to be doing and now that I have the time to do them, test them out and make sure the program still works properly I will be having them released ASAP.
Updates Delayed
December 16, 2007 Posted by
Due to the holidays and an unknown bug that has popped up int he development version causing the system to lock up, the updates have been delayed. Sorry about this but until I find the reason for the lockup and once all the business of the holiday seasons is over with, there will be more frequent updates. I do not wish to release a half finished buggy version of my software and I would rather have a version that is working out for download as it is known to be working.
I just want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. It’s a hard job when it’s one person operation and I am sure everyone understands.
2.1.1 out
December 2, 2007 Posted by
This version adds a feature to check for updates during program startup. I’ll be doing code cleanup and optimization over the week and also adding support for Corank and a few other things in. Thanks everyone for your patience and your suggestions. Due to the holidays coming up, time is a little pressed lately but I am working on getting everything in as I can.
Updates to come out soon
November 29, 2007 Posted by
Starting on the 30th of November for about a week I will be releasing small updates to the program over the week period. The first update to come will add an Update check to let you know when an update is available, I will also be adding support for Corank sites and fixing some small minor stuff. So stay tuned!
2 major bugs fixed
November 15, 2007 Posted by
We have released an update that fixes 2 major bugs. 1 bug had to do with manually selecting a category, would not save and post under that category. This has been fixed! Also some users were unable to see the captcha codes correctly, this should now be fixed. If you haven’t downloaded the update already, Please do so now.
Announcing Project Spank
Posted by
I am announcing “Project Spank”. Project Spank is going to be a program (separate from the submitter program) that will allow you to spank/wank/digg/dugg or whatever the adult social bookmarking site calls it. Don’t your posts already get voted when you submit? 99% of the time yes, but say you’ve got some webmaster friends and ya’ll like to vote for each other sort of the friend helping a friend out sort of deal, but you don’t want to spend the time going through all the sites to vote for them. Well this tool will allow you to automatically search out for your friends, find posts you have voted for yet with them and will place a vote for them. Is this cheating? Well, I say it’s not because A) You’d be doing it anyways, and B) that’s what these sites are for!
I am unsure at this time if it will be freeware or not. If it’s not it will not be expensive but we’ll just see where it goes as I get there.
